Try out and learn how writing and coding on Elementari works through this lesson geared for teachers. No coding experience needed!
Don't worry - often students will explore coding independently and enjoy sharing their knowledge with you and their peers.
Start crafting the "Design Layout" —the front side of your page.
Follow the step-by-step lesson that scaffolds and automatically validates your actions. Give it a try!
Dive into Elementari's node-based visual coding, akin to creating a flowchart. This visual coding approach is employed in professional tools like Unreal Engine, renowned for developing Fortnite.
Begin coding to enrich your stories with dynamic animations, interactions, and sounds to move beyond simple slides. Think of coding as just another layer of storytelling!
To begin coding, go to the page's back side, also called the Event Graph.
Here, we'll kick off by coding a cool text animation when the page starts!
Add, duplicate, or use pre-coded templates for easy setup—similar to Google Slides, but with Elementari, you can add a layer of coding.
Next, let's enhance your story by adding special animation objects. Experiment with a character, like the girl, to witness animation come to life!
Dive into a student favorite: the animate block. Make the girl talk, cry, or laugh with a simple click!
Regular users just click on the Publish button to publish their story!
For privacy, students cannot publish stories independently.
Students will Submit their creations for teacher review. Teachers can then publish the stories.
Published stories are public, shareable with anyone, and will be displayed in the classroom library— a hub for all students' published stories.
Discover and assign a lesson to your classroom from our Lesson Library to your class. Start with The Dragon Says… or the All About Me Interactive Book to introduce animations and voiceovers. For older students and a focus on writing, try 2 Truths and 1 Fib that uses pre-coded templates.
For complete freedom, you assign the open-ended Create for Fun lesson.
